My New Normal
A month has vaporized since I last reached out to you. Much has happened.
You may be a new subscriber in the past 30 days. If so, you probably should read the LAST newsletter to get you up to
speed.
It will explain why I've been absent from your inbox for a month.

Things have settled
down here. That said, everyone's world here is upside down. My daughter, granddaughter, Kathy - my loving wife, and me too.
It's magical to have our granddaughter here with us each day. It's also delightful that my daughter is here. But I know her well, and still waters run deep. I can tell she's carrying a very heavy emotional load.
My daughter is getting professional counseling, so
that's very good. She also snared an amazing remote job in the past two weeks. She is working for a tech company that handles much of the behind-the-scenes work for brokers who purvey private-jet flights to folks to those who have lots of money and don't want to mingle with us common folk on commercial airliners.
You may not know this, but for the past three years my daughter was the private flight attendant for one of the biggest
celebrities out there. My daughter was in charge of just about all aspects of the plane, catering, and many other aspects of what made the plane function. This, along with her great attention to detail, makes her a perfect fit for this new opportunity.
Kathy and I opened the Carter Daycare Center days ago when my daughter's job kicked into full gear. I have to care for my granddaughter from 8:30 AM until Noon. Kathy then relieves me for a
few hours after that.
I have to say it's a delightful life-changing experience to watch, play with, soothe, and entertain a 9-month-old baby. I'm creating lots of my own memories. I've also written my first children's book based on a drive I took on the backroads of New Hampshire with my granddaughter. I'm now trying to figure out how to illustrate it.
You may be a mom. If so, then you
know what I'm going through. I can't give moms enough praise. It's such hard work caring for a 9-month-old baby.
Fortunately, my daughter's about to switch her work time and she's very happy about it. She'l soon work from 3 - 11 PM Eastern Time. This allows her all sorts of time with her daughter in the morning and early afternoon. Kathy and I will watch our little one from 3 until 8 PM when she goes to bed.
I want to thank you for reaching out to me over the past 30 days to offer your prayers, support, and good wishes. I have to tell you it's been a vast teaching moment for me.
I got up and went to work each day when my kids were tiny. I had NO IDEA how much work Kathy did. I had no idea how much work you did too, if you were a stay-at-home mom. The same goes for any stay-at-home
dads.
AI Update: The Death of Content
I've shared in the past few months how artificial intelligence (AI) is creating unfathomable disruption in the world.
I've challenged you to try it. Have you? If not, you MUST.
Once you see how it works, you'll understand why content
creators like me are about to hang up our spikes and call it quits.
Please go type the following complex questions into Perplexity - one ol the large-language AI models (LLMs).
Come back here after you've done this so you have CONTEXT that will put what I'm about to say in perspective.
Type the following into Perplexity:
I smell sewer gas in my home. Why am I smelling sewer gas? Is it dangerous? How can I stop the sewer gas smell?
