I was in California twelve days ago. My camera was pointed east in the above photo. I was standing at cliff's edge above the Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach just west of Malibu, California.

I did find time to continue my quest trying to locate the best mocha chip ice cream in the world. I stopped here:

While the Ojai ice cream was very good, it didn't beat the mocha chip ice cream from Aglamesis in Cincinnati, Ohio. You can order it and have it shipped to your home.

I have many friends who live in southern California, but alas I had no time to visit anyone other than my CTO. We had a lunch meeting.

The ocean below the Malibu beach looked like a massive tanker filled with deep-blue dye sank just a mile offshore. They don't call it the deep blue sea for nothing.

Speaking of which, if you're looking for an excellent true adventure story that ends with treachery, I can't say enough good things about The Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea.

You'll be captivated by the diligence, discipline, and determination of Tommy Thompson. You'll cringe when you discover the depth of his disloyalty is deeper than the Mariana Trench.

You might be able to speculate what happened in his mind as he brought up more and more mint-condition gold coins and bars not allowing the ship's crew to see what he was doing.

You'll wonder how he could backstab those who trusted him the most! I GUARANTEE you'll love this book. Believe it or not, after reading it, I called the author, Gary, on the phone and spoke with him. He was kind enough to answer some of my questions.

Building a Home in the Colorado Rockies

Last week I was hired to be the virtual general contractor for a home being built up in the mountains of the Front Range. I'm advising a young Denver, CO couple.

They had hired a young project manager (PM), but he's already missed a few critical items.

The husband did an initial consult phone call with me about one of the problems. In less than 90 seconds I said, "Why didn't the PM have pass-through sleeves installed in or under the footing?"

The owner replied, "Oh my gosh, that's such an easy solution!"

I then pointed out an error in the spacing of the floor trusses the PM missed. 

Days later they fired this chest-thumping young buck. He was none too happy to discover an old goat from New Hampshire showed him up.

Just two days ago I shared how the floor-truss height might not be high enough to allow for crossover issues with plumbing drain lines and the HVAC ductwork.

I'm also working with a woman who's getting ready to build her dream getaway in central Kentucky.

I have just THREE time slots available at this time to help you in similar situations. If you're getting ready to start a BIG PROJECT, it might be wise to get me on your team.

I guarantee you I can save you thousands of dollars and ensure your project is a happy one. All too often, projects go off the rails, you get angry at your builder, and you think of suing him. Think really hard before doing that.
