Here's the opening of the third issue I sent out just
a few days ago. This new newsletter is all about psychic journeys. Who doesn't like a journey brimming with adventure?
Â
Hi Imagine Your Name Here,
Â
"I'm in the happiness business."
Â
Angel winked one of her glistening crystal-blue eyes, tilted her head ever so much allowing
her long flowing brown hair to waver, and quipped with an intoxicating smile, "You do it well!"
Â
I came to know Angel over the past four years as she'd walk up the handicap ramp to attend
the 10:30 AM Sunday mass at Sacred Heart Church in Laconia, NH. She's a single middle-aged Air Force veteran who has honed her critical-thinking skills. The first day we met we discovered we both knew that chain-link fences can't stop BBs. From that day forward, our friendship was forged.
Â
My lovely wife Kathy and I are the head ushers at this mass. We were thrust into the job
because the former head usher had to take an unexpected leave of absence. Part of an usher's job at our church is to greet people. It's not an easy job for some.
Â
In my opinion, the best greeters are those that can pass the elevator test. Few possess
this mettle. It just so happens I'm one of those cursed with the skill.
Â
Yes, I actually talk to strangers on elevators.
Â
"Why do you DO that?" Kathy will exclaim after the elevator door closes and the elevator
resumes its travel. Meanwhile, the flustered stranger is recovering from the verbal assault. Evidently keeping one's mouth closed in the tiny moving metal box is some sacred code.
Â
"Well, it's sort of a fun game if you ask me!" To this day Kathy has never understood my
reasoning for chatting up strangers inside a 6x6 moving metal tomb...
Â
The open rate for my new fun newsletter is off the charts. It's over 90 percent! I think
the testimonials above tell the tale.
