How to Waste $10,000
It happens at least ten times a week. Maybe
more.
I get a help request from a person like you via my Ask Tim page.
Ninety-eight percent of the time the problems are complex and require lots of typing. What's more, after thirty years of helping people via email, I know they'll ask follow-up questions. All of this takes vast amounts of
time.
The most glaring one this past week came from a middle-aged woman. You don't need to know her name her but you do need to read what she sent me.
She was persistent. Not only did she use my Ask Tim page, but she also found me on FascistBook and send the same message.
Here it is:
"Hi Tim,
You have very
informative videos. LeafFilter mesh guards sounds good but unsure if it’s my best route to take. For my 4000 sqf t home, pricing is at $10K…wish I knew a qualified person/company whose charge is not that steep…sticker shock!!!!
Recommendations please to move forward.
Thank you. As a single female what should I consider?"
I responded saying that
she'd be foolish to move ahead without talking to me for 15 minutes. I wanted to share with her the advice I had in MULTIPLE columns I've written over the years about gutter guards.
I wanted to explain to her she had an alternative.
I told her, "...I can save you THOUSANDS of
dollars during a simple call. The call is FREE if you get no value from
it."
The woman decided it was best to not invest $50 before wasting $10,000.00. What's almost unbelievable is the fact she said how she was in sticker shock from the stratospheric price.
Such a sad mistake as Queen Cersei would say.
Tell me you're not like this woman.
