Censorship = Fascism

I'm a member of the working press here in the USA. I routinely receive news about all sorts of things swirling around journalism - or what's left of the profession. Several days ago I received this deeply troubling invitation. Do you see the unacceptable typo in it for starters?

Do you see the problem with their approach to the issue?

Do you know what NGOs are? If so, can you name just one NGO that affirms that man-made climate change is folly?

I responded to the invitation asking them:

"Can you tell me if the following page qualifies as MISINFORMATION about climate change?"

I've yet to receive an answer and don't expect to.

If we lived in an era where most journalists did their jobs, do you know what would happen? If a true professional journalist did her/his job, she/he would SCOUR the landscape for each and every THEORY about climate change.

The pro would get quotes from the people who are out there making claims. The journalist would summarize ALL of the points trying to leave any personal bias out of the work. Nothing would be left out of the story or article because a half-truth is a WHOLE lie.

The purpose of the exercise is to allow YOU to digest all the information - not just one viewpoint - and try to make a decision which point of view or theory might make the most sense.

But what is the current trend? It's no different than grade-school name-calling.

What is the purpose of name calling? What does the child being verbally and psychologically attacked do? She or he normally cowers and fades back into the shadows. That's what bullies want. It's all Game of Thrones stuff.

Remember, just about EVERYTHING in your life, and that of others, revolves around three things: 

• power
• money
• sex

You do realize there are BILLIONS of dollars to be made in promoting man-made climate change, right? Surely you understand this.

Because so much money (Game of Thrones) is in the balance, the name callers (those making all the money) want to SHUT DOWN the discussion about climate change. They label any point of view that doesn't agree with their narrative as misinformation or disinformation.

Do you see how that's the same as name calling? Do you see how sophomoric that is? Do you see how it creates a NEGATIVE impression of the other view points?

Do you know what fascism is? Seriously, do you know? Grab an old dictionary made from wood fibers and look it up.

My college degree is in geology with a focus on continental glaciation.

Have you wondered WHY you NEVER hear any discussion on your news sources about the MANY periods of continental glaciation in the past 2,000,000 years?

Do you embrace man-made climate change?

What about all those scientists of old that said the Earth was the center of the solar system?

What about all the top doctors that said that blood-letting was the way to cure illness?

They were all on the wrong side of the truth and history. 

If you want to find yourself on the RIGHT SIDE of the climate change debate, I urge you to READ this page. Pay CLOSE ATTENTION to the melt rate of the Athabasca Glacier compared to the vast massive continental glaciers and do your best to explain how in the world the continental glaciers melted far faster than what's happening now.

Oh, and one final thing.

STOP BEING PLAYED LIKE A CHEAP FIDDLE.

 Lowe's Paint Debacle

A week ago I purchased two gallons of interior latex paint from Lowe's. It's made by Sherwin Williams and says so on the label.

It also says ONE COAT COVERAGE GUARANTEED on the label.

The paint was tinted a light yellow. If you know anything about painting, yellows are notorious for poor coverage.

I used the best 3/8-inch nap roller Lowe's sold. I didn't over-roll the paint. Many rookies do. Read the label. A gallon of paint normally might cover 300-400 square feet of smooth plaster or drywall.

Rookies try to make a gallon go 500 square feet, or more.

The paint didn't cover in one coat. I went back to get another gallon as that's all I really needed to complete the job. Once the employee handed me the gallon I said, "Do you have to put a sticker on the lid showing I don't have to pay for it?"

"Oh, you have to pay for it. If you want your money back, you need to contact Sherwin Williams."

I was baffled and said, "That doesn't make any sense at all. You need to give it to me for free and get a credit back from Sherwin Williams."

"That's not going to happen. You need to pay for it."

I asked for the store manager. He wasn't in. I asked who to call at Sherwin Williams and the Lowe's paint employee scribbled a name and number on a scrap of paper.

The bottom line is I'm still dealing with Sherwin Williams trying to get my money back.

BOTTOM LINE: If you see products with this guarantee at Lowe's or HD or ????, GET THE STORE MANAGER in front of you before you buy and ask what happens when it's time to get a refund or more product.
