A New Newsletter

I often joke in certain social situations about Kathy changing the locks here at the Carter Casa. I'll say something like, "Well, if you can't find me here (my current house on Lake Winnisquam), I suggest you try looking under the I-93 overpass at Exit 23. I'll be huddled inside a few cardboard boxes on the north side of State Route 104."

That said, I think it might be a very good thing to create a NEW second newsletter should you need to find me in the future. While I don't have any immediate plans of not being here, one never knows when the locks might get changed on THIS newsletter.

My new newsletter's focus will be anything and everything. It's probably going to be somewhat similar to my 

Adventures & Advice 

book series that I'm writing for my kids and a tiny number of very very close friends.

In this book series, I dig deep into my past experiences and use those moments frozen in time as benchmarks about present and future events.

For example, do you think there's a teaching moment inside a story where one day a few wild boys lit the fuse on an M-80 firecracker tied to a small rock and then dropped it into a 10-gallon aluminum pot filled with water?

Or what about my recent baptism by fire about dealing with an insurance loss and how your local insurance agent might be as valuable as a blow torch on a blistering summer day?

I think you can see there's lots of fodder both funny and educational.

Lithium Batteries Update

I'm about a week out from publishing my national column on lithium battery facts.

I can tell you based on my research the problem is much more serious than you might ever imagine.

I can also tell you that my 70-trips-around-the-sun klaxon is blaring that something much more sinister may be simmering inside each plastic battery case.

The FIRST thing you should do is charge and store these batteries away from ANYTHING that's combustible.
