Dear ,
Earlier today I shared with you news about a letter of mine that was printed by the Epoch Times.
We're now just four days away from Christmas and you may watch one of the versions of The Christmas Carol movie. I always loved the
version with George C. Scott as Scrooge.
Scrooge stepped into my life today but so did Tiny Tim after both received my earlier message. Here's exactly what I received:
"You have to sign into the website to read the article which allows the website to set monetize readers privacy no matter what what the TOS
say. They get to sell and track your information. Not acceptable and not.cool. If you wanted us to read your article you should have just sent it to u readers as an email. Or did you get compensated for advertising for Epoch Times?" Gary
Then Tiny Tim reached out to me:
"I read your article (published), and the chapter of your book on delivering the newspapers. Outstanding
writing! Your description of your old neighborhood brought back memories of my own experiences carrying the newspapers. I also appreciated your analysis of how the newspaper industry has come and (mostly) gone.
My own dad had also thought to leave a written legacy of his life's story for his children. He was eighty-three when he began
it... He had a debilitating stroke after typing only one page of it, and never was able to get back to it. I have kept that one page these many years. It has provided much light to me as to who my father was, and how he thought about life.
Thanks for sharing this with all of us, Tim. Your soul is as transparent as my own dad's. The Lord has gifted you with this
ability, and you have used it well!" Bill
What's the lesson here? Don't be Scrooge the next four days.
Stop whining and complaining. Start using fake email addresses to gain access to content if you have to.
Instead, be like Bill and dip yourself in your childhood magic waters via my story and chapter about my paper route.
I'll be back in your Inbox on Sunday morning!
Tim
