Issue #1192Â (I think...)
Â
Dear ,
Â
Summer is in full swing. Are you tackling projects either inside or outside your home? I'd like to know if I can help you.
Â
Â
Just a few hours ago I completed water-pressure calculations for Krystell. She's out in San Leandro, CA and about to open a day-care center. It's ludicrous how the building department is forcing her to spend money to prove that the water pressure coming out of the faucets is sufficient.
Â
For goodness sake, it's San Leandro's responsibility to provide adequate pressure in the water mains. I could see it if she was building a 100-story skyscraper, but not a ground-level day-care center.
Â
I talked with Ajay a few days ago about re-routing plumbing vent pipes in his attic. Here's what he said at the end of the call.
Â
"Tim, I can't begin to thank you for offering this amazing phone-coaching service. Most pros won't talk to me thinking I'm taking money out of their pockets. For me, I just ENJOY doing the work and often just need a peek behind the magic curtain to get the job done right. You're willing to do that and it brings me a vast amount of personal pleasure and fulfillment. I just love being able to do lots of jobs myself."
Â
I couldn't have said it better. It's all about empowering you so you control more of your destiny.
Â
Saving money should be one of the top things on your list. After all, we're officially in a RECESSION that I predict is going to get much much worse.
Â
The Red Beast
Â
I've been working on my 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty 4x4 the past week or so. Last week it was new front shocks. Two days ago I installed new rear shocks. My oh my, those are so much easier to install!
Â
Thank God for the person that invented penetrating oil!
Â
Yesterday I dropped the spare tire, scraped off the rust from the wheel, pressure washed it, and let it dry. Once dry I primed the wheel and painted it.
Â
As the wheel was drying, I proceeded to pressure wash as much of the underside of the truck as I could do. I was trying to blast off any rust scale.
Â
Once the metal dried, I primed all the rusty spots and then spray painted everything gloss black. I've decided I'm trying to get this truck to last 25, or more, years.
Â
Mechanically it's in great shape and the body is in very good shape. It's never been in an accident.
Â
Next week once the paint has cured, I'll spray the entire underside with the magic diesel fuel/used motor oil concoction to hold rust at bay.
Â
I have to tell you the truck now rides like a Cadillac with the new shocks. I should have installed them a few years ago.
Â
New Video Series
Â
A year from now I'll have a new neighbor. These unknown humanoids purchased one of the last vacant lots in my HOA.
Â
It's only 1/2 mile to this lot from my drive and I can walk to it. I've decided to try to create hundreds of new videos for you over the next year. I'm trying to chronicle the entire process.
Â
These videos will go into great detail EXPLAINING why this or that is being done and if it's being done WRONG, I explain what you should do on your home.
Â
I've already caught two or three major mistakes and the foundation's not even poured!
Â
Â
Once there, you'll see SEVEN videos in the right column or somewhere on the screen if you view using your smartphone.
