Dear ,
It's been ten days since my kidney stone surgery. All is well!
Without going into too much detail, my NH urologist inserted a scope through my you-don't-want-to-know-where and traveled up the tiny fragile pipe that connects my left kidney to my bladder.
There he found a stricture, a clog, that was blocking the tiny pipe. It was scar tissue from my first procedure back in October. He also discovered a stone fragment at the
stricture that other scar tissue was trying to encapsulate.
Using a Star-Wars-like laser, he trimmed away some of the scar tissue to try to open the pipe for good.
A stent, think of it as a temporary pipe, was inserted that stretches from my kidney to my bladder. This allows the kidney to
drain.
Guess what? The entire process has been virtually PAIN FREE!
Bottom Line: One way that really works to avoid kidney stones is to just drink an extra liter of water per day. I know all about vinegar, avoiding certain foods, etc.
